Shopping in Asheville NC

It is so blasted hot in the Sunshine State. So, that means I only go outside when it’s essential and decorating projects are on the back burner for now. However, I have been doing some organizing inside, and I have plans for the patio as well.

Hopefully, I can get the patio organized and decorated by the first week in October. So, I can host my first gathering, in my “Tom-Thumb-Sized-Apartment on the patio. Stay tuned!

A few weeks ago, My daughter and our girl’s spent some time in the Carolina’s. While we were there the Earthlings and I spent the day window shopping in Ashville.

I’d visited Ashville almost 15 years ago with some friends, and I liked it a lot. The Locals were super pleasant, and when asked if they loved living in Ashville, it was a unanimous: Yes!

There was only one thing that concerned me, about living there, the rolling blackouts. However, one of the residents put my mind at ease. I was told all I needed to do was be prepared. Since, I live in Florida; I figured if I can prepare for a hurricane, I can surely prepare for rolling blackouts in the Carolina’s.

Our first stop, on our outing was Nadeau. The furnishings on the outside of the store and the slogan “Furniture With A Soul” peeked my curiosity. Once inside, I fell in love with several pieces.

I love the style of this day bed. It’s straight to the point and not complicated, if you know what I mean. I love the white cushions. They compliment the caning and the wood stain very nicely.

The color of the alligator sculpture is amazing. This piece could add a touch of the unexpected in any home. See ya later alligator. I couldn’t resist sayin that! Lol

If you live in a small space like I do, you could group maybe four of these together to create a one-of-a-kind coffee table. Plus, they could be used as extra sitting.

This little stool could go with several different styles. Honestly, all you need to do is love it, and it will work well with any decor. My motto, if you love it buy it!

The details on this console grabbed my attention. The white background of the console gives this piece a light and airy feel. The in-laid tribal pattern introduces a hint of the exotic. Overall, this piece is casual but oh so elegant. Casual elegance is that a design style?

Both consoles would make quite the statement in an entry way. They embody the global vibe which I happen to love!

Coffee tables anyone?

I’m not sure if these are side tables, stools or both. The black and white design with a hint of gold caught my eye.

What can I say about this piece? It’s not too bulky, the details are quite lovely, and the different patterns makes this piece unique and interesting.

How adorable are these wicker acorn baskets? These would go great with your fall decor. Honestly, I would keep them out year round. I think they would be a great conversation starter. You like?

That would be me in the picture. By this point, I was in deep thought. I was thinking how neat it would be if Nadeau offered design services to their customers. This would be a great service for customers who wanted to buy, but aren’t sure how to make the items/furnishings work, in their homes.

As soon as I returned to Fl, I emailed Nadeau concerning design services. The responded….

Hi Lory,

Thank you for your appreciation! We’re glad you enjoyed your visit to our Asheville store. While we currently don’t offer interior design services, your suggestion is invaluable as we consider expanding. We’ll keep you informed about any new developments. Have a great night. Sincerely, Tammy Customer Service Nadeau | FURNITURE WITH A SOUL

This tea/bar cart was so darn cute. I wanted to purchase it. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough room in the SUV to haul it back to Florida. I plan to visit the Tampa store when the weather cools off.

This piece could be a great start to creating your very own entertainment center. I would purchase two of the tall cabinets, and find a console that compliments them. Then, I would flank the cabinets on either side of the console. Voila!

Look at those pendant lights!

Lovelies, I miss being a homeowner, and I’m starting to get the “home-owner itch.” When the market settles down, I’ll be ready to take the plunge.

Who knows, I may own a home in the Carolina’s one day. Well see! Maybe I should ask the mirror on the wall. Just kidding!
