It has taken me quite a while to sit and write this post. So much has transpired in the past several months. Our lives have been impacted tremendously.
My daughter’s husband, whom I call Mr. Richardson became very ill in late September. I’ve been traveling back and forth to North Florida for the past several months.
Mr. Richardson was hospitalized in September and he never returned home. He passed away on February twenty-third. There are no words to convey the void we are experiencing. He left behind a devoted wife and two beautiful daughters. and a host of family and friends. We miss him dearly.
Today, I decided to share pictures of the last family vacation we took to Maggie Valley North Carolina to honor his memory.. We laughed, ate good food, and created beautiful memories.

Maggie Valley here we come!
My daughter who happens to be the queen of finding the best travel deals, found our mountain retreat on VRBO. If you are thinking about vacationing in the Maggie Valley area check this place out. We can’t say enough about how nice/comfy it was. The cabin was equipped with everything. You name it, this place had it.

We crossed this stream to get to and from the cabin.

I snapped a quick picture of the area/community where we lodged. The area was well-kept and peaceful.

After we settled into the cabin, we got a bite to eat, and then we headed; to take in the sights, sounds, and vibe of Maggie Valley.

This is Mr. Richardson, his girls were the apple of his eye!

Mr. Richardson loved it here and talked of visiting again. He was quite the character and made the best coffee ever. We would sit and chat over a cup of coffee or two, for hours. If he started a sentence with “Well” we all knew what that meant. It was going to be a long story.

This is the look Mr. Richardson would give when he didn’t want to take a picture. You can tell my daughter was over it, by the expression on her face.

It took him forever to take a normal picture. Thank goodness he stopped misbehaving long enough to get this photo. I think it’s a really good one.

This is the entire clan, Sheena, Puff, Fatz and you know who. I refer to them as the Earthlings. Instead of saying hello when they call, I always respond with a hearty “Greetings Earthlings”.

While the parents were out on a date, the girls and I were back at the cabin having a fashion show, Zsa Zsa Style!

We found this lovely jacket at the Goodwill in a neighboring town. I think it looks amazing on Fatz. (nickname).

Our fashion show was lit!

“It was cold in them thar hills!!!”. I wore a freeze-dried smile the entire trip.

While the Earthlings were upstairs taking family pics, I headed downstairs to watch TV and relax.

I had my very own space downstairs.

This mountain retreat is truly amazing. To see more click on the link.

Before the vacation ended Mr. R was all smiles in most of the pictures. Hooray!!! Aren’t they super cute in their Maggie Valley tees?

The Earthlings and I got in one more pic before we left the mountain getaway to head back home.
We will return to Maggie Valley soon to scatter the ashes of Our Beloved.

This post does not contain affiliate links. We were impressed with our host Grandma “Rocky” White. So we decided, why not tell others. We have booked our upcoming stay with her!
This was a really nice tribute to Charles!❤️
