Linen Closet Organization Using Dollar Tree Products

The weather is dark and dreary in the sunshine state today. For the past few weeks, the temperature has been amazing. Now, the temps are back in the upper eighties again. It was great while it lasted.

This time of the year most of us are focusing on getting our homes decked out for the fast approaching holidays However, I have opted to start Christmas decorating a little later than normal this year.

I had grandiose plans for turning my teeny-weeny apartment into something magical for the holidays. But when I counted up the cost it was way more than I wanted to spend. You already know, we are super budget-conscious over here.

Since I’ve scaled way back on the Christmas decor, I have some extra time to spare. I figured this would be a great time to take care of a few things I’ve been avoiding, like dropping off clothing donations and repairing the screen on the patio. Lastly, I have a linen closet that needs my attention ASAP!

Linen Closet…The Plan

I don’t know about you but I prefer closets with doors. Can you guess why? The doors have a way of concealing the contents inside. I’ve opened some closet doors and was surprised at how tidy/organized the space was. Then there are those closets that make you go hmm! Well, the closet pictured is the hmm! But don’t you worry, I got it covered.

This particular closet has a lot going on. In other words, it’s wearing a lot of hats. Lol! Let’s see, we have food, first aid paraphernalia, cleaning products, and a lot of other stuff.

The plan is to empty the closet and put items in the best place. For example, the cereal will go into the kitchen and the cleaning supplies will be relocated to the utility closet. Then, we will purchase storage containers/organizers from Dollar Tree and make the space look nice and neat.

The closet will house things that are readily available and accessible for guests. The table linens and bath towels will stay. However, the rest of the items have to go. If not, they will be concealed.

Time Line

The timeline for this project is 3 weeks in total. If all goes well the project should be completed by early December, if not sooner. As I mentioned earlier, Dollar Tree storage organizers will do the heavy lifting for this project. Also, I plan to repurpose/reuse items on hand.

I know the holidays are right around the corner, and this may not be the best time to take on this project. But I also know the feeling you get when everything is easily assessable, organized, and at your fingertips. What shall we say to these things…No messy closet here, bring on the house guests!

Lovelies, that is it for now. I gotta run because I’m headed to the Dollar Tree.
